This summer was incredible blessing for me. Fifteen youth from our church youth group including seven guys from
my small group went out to Los Angeles this year on a weeke and a half long mission trip. This was my first mission
trip and I honestly didn't know what to expect. Really, I was mostly there to encourage and pray for our youth who were
doing the real kingdom work. It turned out to be a moment of fulfillment and wonder at how vast God's kingdom is and
how far he has brought me and "my boys".
We worked at a home for ex-cons run by an incredibly godly woman who offers shelter, meals and help finding employemtn
to any former inmate who wants it. She does this with no government or formal church support. It is run entirely
off her and her husband's fixed income. We were also priviledged to support the Verdugo Methodist Church in Burbank.
It started out as our youth leading their Vacation Bible School and since we found we have helped them respond to God's
call to start an exciting teen ministry. You'll see some pics on this page but I wanted to give a shout out to Pastor
Susan and Steve Skomessa, Gerald, Edson, Sarah and Patrick Duff, Sal and Susan, Vickie, Heidi and the kids, Rudy and everyone
at Jacob's Well.
